Special Notice to Those With Full-Time Aspirations

This position is a part-time position and will always be a part time position.  If your goal is to find a full time position in the legal industry, please do not apply for this position.  We are seeking someone who will be happy to work part time for the Mawn Law Offices LLC; we are not seeking to train someone for full time work at another firm.  If your hidden goal is full time work, this will reveal itself during our multi-stage selection process.  You will fool no one but yourself, and you will waste several hours of your life.
Instructions for Applying

Please Note: If you do not follow these instructions precisely, your application will not be considered.

To apply please send a cover letter, resume and a list of three references to Paul Mawn, Jr., Principal, The Mawn Law Offices, LLC, 924 Farmington Avenue, Suite 203, West Hartford CT 06107.  You must apply via Regular U.S. Mail, not by fax, e-mail or carrier pigeon.

COVER LETTER

The cover letter should demonstrate your ability to draft formal business correspondence and should tell me: How you first learned of this opportunity, why you want the job and why you think you would be successful.  That's it.

RESUME

Keep it simple and keep it honest.  If you want to list certain accomplishments and skills, list those that relate to this job.  The fact that you were once the top door-to-door frozen food salesperson in New England is wonderful, but not relevant.

REFERENCE LIST

Your reference list should be a brief, one-page list of three (and only three) references of people who directly supervised you in a job, internship, or volunteer position.  For each reference, please provide the supervisor's first and last name, their title when they supervised you, and the name of the company they supervised you at, along with a current working phone number for each reference.  If, for some reason, you cannot provide all of the information requested above, just do the best you can.

When you apply, do not enclose superfluous materials; just the cover letter, resume and the reference list.

Please do not contact this law office to inquire about the status of your application, or to ask questions about the job.  If the firm is interested in your application, you will receive all the information you need.
